Vacation 2016, This Is Cooperstown

Our entire day was spent at the spiritual home of baseball, Cooperstown, New York.  Cooperstown is, of course, home to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, which was located just a brief walk from our bed & breakfast.
We started off by visiting the lockers of all 30 major league teams, including Ava's two favorites.
The morning was spent learning about some of the legends of the game such as Ted Williams along with women in baseball, and some of the lighter side of baseball.
We took a short stroll through town to break for lunch at the Otesaga, which sits on the banks of Lake Otsego.  After lunch on the patio, Ava indulged in worms and dirt for dessert.
After lunch, we headed back to see the plethora of plaques at the Hall.
We searched for all our favorite players like Jackie Robinson.
We continued to tour around the museum and go to see the latest installment featuring the 2015 World Series champion Kansas City Royals.
As part of "World Series Weekend" we got to get up close and personal with the Royals' trophy.
With a little bit of help Ava found the answers to all the questions in the scavenger hunt and earned a couple packs of baseball cards.  After the museum, we browsed through more of the baseball themed shops in town, and caught some little league baseball at Doubleday Field.
Tomorrow we head south to Pennsylvania where it's supposed to rain.  Will we get our first rainout of the trip and miss out on 4th of July fireworks?  Check in tomorrow and find out.
