UK, Day 4 (Part 1): North and South Banks

After a good night's sleep by all three of us, we took the bus over London Bridge to explore the South Bank.  Being such a cloudy day, Ava decided to forego a trip to the Shard, Europe's tallest building, saving us £70.  Instead we strolled along the Queen's Walk pathway along the riverfront past the Hay's Galleria and the HMS Belfast to Tower Bridge.
Ava was allowed to choose one thing from out trip in 2012 to do again, and decided on revisiting the Tower Bridge Experience.
Newly added was a glass walkway 140 feet above the Thames, which didn't phase Ava one bit.
We meandered about and eventually got to the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of Borough Market where Ava had a number of samples and snacks.
We had a quick lunch overlooking the river and St. Paul's.
We walked by Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, a reproduction of the original theatre built in 1599, on our way to the Tate Modern.
Ava enjoyed some of the pieces of modern art while not understanding others (Abby and Chris felt the same way), and claimed that some of the rooms smelled like french fries.
Walking across the Millenium Bridge we got to St. Paul's and Temple Bar Gate.
Ava and Abby spent a bit of time in the afternoon on Carnaby Street and Regent Street for some shopping including a stop at Hamley's ("The Finest Children's Toy Shop in the World") where they had a brilliant display of Beanie Boo's.
The day ended with a trip back to Stamford Bridge to see Chelsea defeat Stoke City 2-1 to remain at the top of the Premier League table.  Ava remarked that Stamford Bridge "sounds just like "the pub" (The Olde Ship), and said she thought we just made up the songs we sang at The Ship.
In the second segment of today's blog entry you'll get to see plenty of sheep, Shaun the Sheep that is.
