Summertime

Ava has enjoyed the summer thus far and taken full advantage of the warm (sometimes hot) weather and spent tons of time outside.  Her summer fun has included:


A mini-vacation to Grammy and Poppy's house . . .

Play dates and play group gatherings at home and at the park . . . 

Visits to the zoo . . . 

Rides to the park on her new bike . . . 

And day camp at iCamp and Camp OC.

A Safe and Sane Independence Day

After last year's Independence Day festivities were cut short because the fireworks started a brush fire, Ava can happily say that this year's 4th of July celebrations went off without a hitch.

We started our red, white, and blue day by making waffles topped with strawberries, whipped cream, and blueberries.

After spending most of the day relaxing and playing at home, we headed to the Irvine Police Association's 28th Annual Concert on the Green and Firework Festival where Ava met up with some of her best friends.  The kids ran around, played soccer, jumped in the bounce house, and ate together.

After dinner, dessert, and more play time, the kids settled in for a fantastic (and safe) firework show.
